Managing Students

Use the Students page to review the profiles saved in this install of the app.

What this page is for

On the Students page, you can:

  • browse registered profiles
  • search by name or email
  • update a student's saved details
  • record or update a ban
  • delete a profile
  • assign or change a role

What you will see in the list

Each row shows the student's:

  • name
  • email
  • role
  • plan
  • last updated time
  • current status

Editing student details

From the row menu, choose Edit.

The current edit screen lets you change:

  • name
  • plan type
  • role

The student's email is shown in the list so you can identify the profile, but it is not edited in the current form.

:::note Plan type is informational today plan_type is currently for record-keeping only. Changing it does not unlock or restrict features anywhere in the app today. :::

Banning a student

From the row menu, choose Ban or Update Ban.

You can record:

  • a ban reason
  • an optional time limit

The current page offers:

  • Temporary (30 days)
  • Permanent

What banning does today:

  • marks the profile as banned
  • stores the reason
  • stores an expiry date if you choose a temporary ban

What banning does not currently do on its own:

  • it does not create a login block
  • it does not stop someone from opening the app
  • it does not stop access to the Admin Portal
  • it does not enforce feature restrictions elsewhere in the app today

Deleting a profile

Choose Delete from the row menu if you want to permanently remove a profile.

The app asks for confirmation before deletion.

:::warning Deleting a profile is permanent Once deleted, that profile is removed from the Students page. Its saved role assignment is removed with it. :::

Assigning roles

You can set a profile's role to:

  • student
  • super_admin

Changing the role replaces the current role for that profile.

:::note Roles are informational today role is also record-keeping only right now. There is no active role-based access control in the app today, so assigning super_admin does not unlock protected admin-only screens, and assigning student does not block them. :::

Suggested workflow

  2. Search by name or email if needed.
  3. Open the row menu.
