How Your Progress Is Saved (No Account Needed)
IELTS Mastery Hub does not use a normal sign-up or login system. Instead, it quietly remembers you on this device and keeps your progress here for you.
How the app remembers you
The first time you use the app, it creates an anonymous ID for this device. That ID is stored locally and used to keep track of your:
- practice sessions
- in-progress work
- completed scores
- dashboard history
- Writing feedback
All of this is saved locally in the app's own storage on your computer.
:::note This is expected behavior If the app remembers your progress on this computer without asking you to log in, that is working exactly as intended. :::
What this means in everyday use
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| You keep using the same device and app data | Your progress stays there |
| You open the app on a different computer | You start with a fresh history |
| You reinstall the app or clear its data | Your saved progress is reset |
| You look for a backup/export option for student progress | There is no built-in progress backup or transfer feature right now |
Your progress does not move between devices
Because there is no online account and no cloud sync, your study history does not follow you to another computer or another install of the app.
That can feel surprising at first, but it is not a bug. It is simply how the app is designed today: your progress belongs to this local device.
:::warning Clearing app data resets your history If app data is removed, the app will no longer have your old sessions, scores, or streaks. :::
What about internet access?
Your saved progress is still local. The app does not need the internet to save Reading, Listening, or dashboard activity.
The one exception is Writing AI grading. Writing submissions need an internet connection because they are sent to an external grading service. After grading finishes, the result is saved locally on your device like the rest of your history.
The short version
- No account is required
- Your progress is saved on this device
- It does not automatically transfer to another device
- Clearing app data removes that history
That is the normal, expected setup for IELTS Mastery Hub right now.
